Carolyn is founder and CEO of Knowle West Media Centre and Bristol Living Lab located in South Bristol: an arts and media centre that delivers creative and purposeful projects contributing to a wider understanding of the role of co-design with people in communities and cities.
She currently sits on the European Network of Living Labs Council and co – leads the Social Innovation and Digital Rights Action Orientated Task Force with I2Cat Labs, Barcelona. She is a Board Member for Plymouth based RIO (Real Ideas Organisation) and was formerly on the board of Bristol 2015 (European Green Capital) and on the Regional Arts Council.
In 2009 the University of West of England awarded her an honorary Doctorate for her contribution to education and social justice.
She leads the KWMC’s participation in a wide range of international and citywide arts and cultural projects that have a focus on sustainability, inclusion and building creative, empowered communities.
