International Ambassador – Muna Abdi

Muna Abdi fled civil war as a teenager with her mother and brother, and is now director of Primeway Care, an active employer of over 150 people in Bristol. 90 percent of Muna’s staff come from refugee or immigrant backgrounds and/or have no previous work experience.

“I am extremely honoured to be selected for this role, and I’m excited to become an ambassador for Bristol. I believe this will allow me to add more value to my city.  Bristol is the best place to live, and I look forward to showcasing that to the world!”

Muna believes more people need to recognise the contribution that refugee and migrant entrepreneurs, such as herself, can bring to society. Muna is also an active member of the Somali community in Bristol, chairing the Bristol Somali Forum and devoting her spare time to encouraging the Somali community to play an active part in Bristol’s city life.
